Mobile phone technology has made communication to any part of the world accessible and speedy. It is difficult to imagine that until just a few decades ago, communication was solely dependent on technologies such as telegraph and post.
Phones in general and mobile phone technology, specifically, have had a huge impact on communication and human interaction, and many sociologists and behavioural experts deem this an important topic of study. While there are some obvious benefits to the connectivity that we have achieved to mobile phone technology, some might argue that we are becoming far too dependent on it.
The reason why mobile phones form such a big part of our lives is that they are no longer just phones. They are smart machines capable of performing several complex tasks. They can also have clever little programmes called apps. Apps like dating singles , business related apps, or lifestyle apps are widely used and are extremely popular.
It is said that people today are becoming more isolated as they become seemingly more connected. That people are communicating over their phones constantly without really connecting with the ones they love. But this could be an overly alarmist view of things.
One thing is certain, as communication through so many different channels becomes ubiquitous, it is up to us to use the tools that technology has made available to us to get closer to our loved ones and live a more fulfilling life.
