I suspect that while many of us do not actually need a new phone, many of us would love to get a one. The pace of technology in this industry is moving so fast that life becomes one whirl of upgrading our old phone, only to see it replaced within weeks by a newer model with more bells and whistles.

So if we are to embark on this never ending and pretty expensive cycle of always have the latest technology, we should at least shop around to make sure that we take full advantage of some of the great deals on offers from some of the providers such as free laptop with mobile broadband or free minutes or unlimited texts.

While it is true that the phone companies are making very healthy profits, they know that they have to be one step ahead of the competition when it comes to offers and deals and they are effectively fighting for our business.

That is why if you really do your homework and shop around you can find a new phone or broadband contract for what on the face of seems very little money.

Make sure that you also read the small print of the deal to ensure that the offer is as good as it looks on the surface, so that you are not caught out.
